What we may or may not achieve in our life?

Do you know though Mukesh Ambani and Bill Gate are so rich, why we are not?

Or though Virat Kohli is so good cricketer, why we are not? Or though Srinivasa Iyengar Ramanujan and Albert Einstein were so renowned mathematicians, why we are not?

If we were to believe in astrology – all of us lead a unique life only because everybody’s “date of birth, time of birth and place of birth” is unique.

For instance, only Bill Gates was born where he was born on the date on which he was born at the time when he was born in the city where he was born – none else. If you would have born on the same date, at the same time at the same place where he was born, you would have been also that rich as he is.

The same way, you would have been also as big mathematician as Ramanujan or Albert Einstein were if you would have born on the same date, at the same time and at the same place where they were born instead of them.

So according to astrology, what we achieve in our life depends on the date of our birth, the time of our birth and the place of our birth.

But God has not given us the authority of deciding when we should have born and where we should have born.

So a question arises who decides when and where we should have born.

Moving a step further, according to the precepts of karmas the date of our birth, the time of our birth and the place of our birth depends on the type of karmas we had performed during our past life.

If we conjoin both precepts we may as well say since our past karmas decide “the date of our birth, the time of our birth and the place of our birth” and the date of our birth, the time of our birth and the place of our birth decide what we may achieve in our life – what we may achieve in our life also depends on our past life karmas only.

But actually it is not so because the second precept is “fallacious”.

Basically, what may happen in our life or what we may achieve in our life depends on

  • The things that are neither in our domain nor in the domain of others.
  • The things that are in the domain of our parents and the domain of other people.
  • The things that are within our own domain.

We can portray this concept through the following diagram in which the weight W1 represents the things that are neither in our domain nor in the domain of the people known to us.

The weight W2 represents the things that are in the domain of other people – not in our own domain and the weight W3 represents the things that are within our domain.

Of course, it remains to be seen what we cover under W1 and what we cover under W2 and W3.

Even though we could have not opted to get born on any particular date, at any particular time, in any particular family or at any particular place the fact is – we come to know when we were born and where we were born through our parents.

So it is no more a secret.

Though astrology attempts to tell what may happen in our life based on the position of the stars in the sky it does not come in our way to classify things into the three categories – the things that belong to the weights W1, W2 and W3.

We know – things like riots, earthquakes, cyclones, floods or tsunami waves that depend on seismology and meteorology do not  come neither under our domain nor under the domain of anybody with whom we may interact or who may interact with us in our life.

We never know who all shall interact with us or with whom all we shall interact in our life. So, all such things are also represented by the weight W1 only. Nor astrology can tell us – with whom we shall interact in our life or who shall interact with us in our life and what role they shall play in our life.

The weight W2 represents the things that are neither caused by seismology or by meteorology nor are within our hands.

Likewise, the weight W3 represents the things that are within our domain.

So it is fallacious that everything that happens in our life or what we may achieve in our life depends entirely on the karmas we may have performed during our past life or on the date/time and the place of our birth only.

Though it is only a metaphorical representation, our achievements are represented by the position of equilibrium of the point P of this diagram and the position of the point P keeps on changing from time to time as shown in the following diagram depending on the weights W1, W2 and W3.
